 The marine aquaculture in the last three
years of the eighth “five-year
plan” is one of the most quickly
developed industries. According to the official statistics, the maricultural output of the
whole country was 2.42 million tons in 1992, while in 1995 it increased to 4.12 million
tons. The annual increasing rate was up to 20% in the last three years of the eighth “five-year plan”. The largest proportion in the
maricultural output is shellfish, which was 75% of the total maricultural output. Its
output was 3.1 million tons in 1995. While algal, fish, shrimp and crab were respectively
739 thousand tons, 145 thousand tons and 116 thousand tons, which respectively accounted
for 18%, 4%, 3% of the total maricultural output. During these three years, the annual
increasing rate of fish, shrimp, shellfish and algae were respectively 35.2%, -18.7%,
24.7% and 10.1%. |
